Dead Island Review

Well, it only took me 9 years, but I've FINALLY beaten Dead Island, and I can say, this is the WORST zombie apocalypse game I've ever played in my entire life (you can tell why it took me 9 years to beat it).

The characters are forgettable, the special infected are nothing special. Resident Evil and Left 4 Dead both have better characters AND better special infected. I was hoping that each new area would have a new special, and this was for the most part true until the Prison level where there is no new special infected.

Here are a variety of reasons why I hate this game:

- There's no way to BLOCK with your weapons, you're supposed to kick, which is stupid
- Picking up a weapon of the same type will AUTOMATICALLY swap to that weapon, even if worse
- If you pick up alcohol, it automatically equips alcohol, and if you pick up molotovs, you will automatically equip molotovs. It should go into your inventory, NOT an auto-equip
- There is no difference between "Press Z" and "Hold Z" when your inventory is full. The slightest of taps will swap your best weapon with trash, and this is how I lost my BEST weapon in the game
- Can't equip brass knuckles on fists, wasting a wheel slot on fists that you'll never use
- No keyboard shortcuts for player menu, such as being able to press R to repair and Enter to confirm prompts
- Throwing weapons is STUPID, the only time I throw weapons is accidental and then I'm in a panic to pick up my best weapon before I lose it!
- The final boss has a health bar but you CAN'T DAMAGE IT until you go through the final cut scene, making you waste ammo on it
- The final boss can walk through the air to kill you if you climb either of the ladders in the middle of the final boss battle
- There's an exploit spot where you can jump off the helipad onto one of the metal units and kill the boss from there

Turnstile

I wrote this poem to sort out the feelings I had about Unigamia.

I see you all every day
Some in groups and some at play
And as you all pass through me
Here I am, the turnstile

Sometimes you don't get along
And then I wonder where you've gone
You no longer pass through me
I'll be waiting for you, the turnstile

Other times, you skip a beat
When you hear a voice, and you first meet
As your hands touch by happenstance
While passing through me, the turnstile

Some of you pass through me in a hurry
Full of dread and full of worry
You push your way to the edge,
and as the light shines, you take a step
But you come back to me, the turnstile

And one day I ground my gears
Overcome with my own fears
That eventually you'd no longer need
To pass through old rusty me, the turnstile

I let those who jump over me
Cloud my vision so I could not see
Those who bring me the most glee
For you I loosened up my gears, the turnstile

Some of you have not come back
But this is where you first met
I hope you will not forget me in the end
For I'll always remember you

Servers Disappearing from the Master Server List - Ports?

I upgraded to MultiAdmin 3.x for two reasons: server stability (less crashes) and the mysterious [MEMES] server disappearance. MultiAdmin 2.x would lose track of [MEMES] and ONLY [MEMES] and refuse to restart the instance.

Of course, upon getting this same issue in MultiAdmin, I was furious but I believe I've found it to be one of two issues:

1) For whatever reason it cannot allocate ports 7777 or 7778 so it starts incrementing the ports, which were blocked by the firewall.
2) The daemon should pause instead of using read because read occasionally locks the process.

Week of April 21st Void Glitches

Void Glitches began to frequently affect #3 [RP] and then spread onto #4 [MEMES] during this week. I tried moving the SCP Secret Laboratory folder as well as purging the configs, and disabling all plugins, reintroducing them one-by-one.

Nothing worked. One change that I did make was to detect lines like this in the config_global.txt:

ec_end_conditions: [<-- p="" space="">
And delete those lines from the resulting configs if they were not filled in. These configs with trailing spaces might have been the cause of the Void Glitch, but I have no way of knowing.

No Color, No Verification - SCP:SL Server Glitch #7

If you set a role color to "default" in your config_remoteadmin.txt, it will prevent your server from being verified.

Config Too Long - Tales of the Void Glitch - SCP:SL Server Glitch #3

If a configuration setting in config.txt exceeds 256 characters, the server will load into a Void Glitch.

Line Endings - Tales of the Void Glitch - SCP:SL Server Glitch #2

When creating my MergeConfigs script, I used \n line endings instead of \r\n line endings (the script used to parse out all the carriage returns).

Using \n line endings caused all of my servers to cease loading, and only when I restored the config files to \r\n did they begin to load again.

A Single Space - Tales of the Void Glitch - SCPSL Server Glitch #1

On May 28th, 2018, we encountered our very first Void Glitch. It was caused by a single space in the config_remoteadmin.txt file.

Why Eureka seveN AO is Terrible (No Spoilers)

This is the review I posted to My Anime List. I will potentially be creating a review with spoilers in the future.

Story

What It Should Have Been

A lot of viewers will tell you that a sequel to Eureka seveN was near impossible. However, I completely disagree with this notion. Eureka seveN AO could have gone in two very plausible directions.

I. A sequel based on the artwork from DVD Vol. 12

http://www.amazon.com/Eureka-Seven-Vol-Episodes-47-50/dp/B00114UUKY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1439064718&sr=8-1&keywords=eureka+seven+dvd+12

In this picture, there are essentially two worlds: the above-ground and below-ground, as I've taken to calling them. The plethora of questions posed by this image (since the image is canon to the end of Eureka seveN) could easily make for a new series:

1. Is there political turmoil between above-grounders and below-grounders?
2. If this takes place far in the future, are Coralian-Human hybrid descendants common and do they face discrimination like the Vodarac?
3. How different are the cultures of lifters (above-grounders) and surfers (below-grounders), since below ground there is no trapar?

The Eureka seveN universe is so detailed, there should have been no problem creating a chronological sequel to it.

II. A *prequel* based on the events detailed in episode 47 of Eureka seveN.

10,000 years before Eureka seveN, humans were attacking the Scub Coral. We used jets to try bombing it, and I wouldn't doubt it if we used nukes.

In this context, the Scub Coral as the true enemy would have made perfect sense, especially when fighting these creepy things: http://eurekaseven.wikia.com/wiki/Antibody_Coralians Get rid of the Secrets and Quartz, and we would have had an amazingly good anime that built on the canon. There are more than enough questions to sustain a prequel, such as:

1. What, in graphic detail, happened to humans as they fought the Scub?
2. How did the humans build the ships that took them off the planet, and how did they survive out in space for 10,000 years?
3. How many humans were left behind to be killed/absorbed by the Scub?

Sadly, I've reached my Limit of Questions for this section, but as you can see, there was obviously a lot of missed potential with this series.

What It Actually Was

The plot was incredible sporadic. Never is there any consistency in the characters who make random choices that are not explained, or that really even matter. I can't really elaborate without *many* spoilers.

Art

Art was nothing impressive. It just took from the same Eureka seveN art style, tried to change things up in a special way, and failed.

Sound

If you look up Eureka seveN AO OST on Amazon, you get the OST for Eureka Seven, 'nuff said:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=eureka+seven+ao+ost

The music was so terrible in this anime; not in that the music was bad, but because it didn't evoke the raw emotions that music in Eureka seveN did. The only good music was the bit of Niji that they put in.

Character

Do I have to?

No really, do I have to go over this?

There was absolutely no depth to the characters whatsoever, and no character development either. When does a character actually change in the inside, as opposed to the outside? Sure, some characters get different outfits, but the same underlying characters don't change. And then you have a character that has a different outfit, and did not use to be the same character, but it is very poorly explained. You have explained but unexplained romances in the series. There are times when it pretends to be a harem... and then ignores any relationships between the characters.

Enjoyment

Did I enjoy one of my favorite animes of all time being butchered a SECOND time after it was previously butchered by a terrible movie? No.

Overall

Save yourself the 9 or so hours spent watching this series, and re-watch the original Eureka seveN. There is no reason to watch this travesty of an anime.

NyanPasu's rant. Why couldn't he read?

Today, our server was graced by the presence of NyanPasu (STEAM_0:1:52229770), a user who simply does not understand how to read. Our rules clearly state:
You will not be punished for anything that damages your karma. However, you will be punished to the fullest extent for anything that does not damage your karma.
https://www.unigamia.com/wiki/Magnets_and_Waffles#Rules

So we were on Westwood and I was innocent. I jokingly told Nyan to get in the jail cell, and he instead told me to, so I told him I would only get in if he got in with me. I went in and he locked me in. He had ~10 health. I killed him, and then the detective killed me for killing him.

So he starts accusing me of admin abuse. Tells me I need to slay myself for RDMing. Why? I lost karma for killing him. If I slayed myself, it would be double jeopardy.

... what does he do at the very start of the next round? RDMs me. I was traitor. So now he goes on a tirade about how he's getting slayed for two rounds after an RDM at the beginning of the round (which usually warrants at least a six month ban...). I was being lenient on him, and he decides to leave the server... so what are his offenses?
  • RDMing at the beginning of a round.
  • RDM and leave.
  • Revenge RDM.
  • Not reading the damn rules.
*sigh*

Why DayZ sucks

I'm going to document all of the annoying errors I get while trying to join a custom DayZ server:
Addon 'dayz_anim' requires addon 'CA_CommunityConfigurationProject_E'
From what I could tell, this was caused by not loading DayZ with the beta patch.

I received this error from opening the Expansions menu in DayZ:
 No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgMods/VILAS_RW_Forces_CO.dir'.
It seems to be from Vilas's Eastern Weapons Pack. When I enable it and restart my game, it is promptly disabled after the restart.

When I try to join the custom server I want, it gives me this error:
You cannot play/edit this mission; it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted. gnt_c185
Before installing DayZ Epoch Panthera, it was:
You cannot play/edit this mission; dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted. asc_eu_lights
When I close these popups, it errors out with:
Include file z\addons\dayz_code\system\BIS_Effects\init.sqf not found.

A forum post suggested that I should copy the contents of Arma 2 to Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead. I did that and now receive:
No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgWeapons/BAF_L85A2_UGL_Holo.BAF_L17_40mm'.
These errors never end...

It's four days later and now it's time for more errors:
Picture z\addons\dayz_code\gui\mod.paa not found
But I finally got DayZ to work! I had to uninstall the Arma 2: DayZ Mod entry that I had in Steam, make sure its folder was removed in Arma 2.

Worst Gaming Organization of the Week: Koality Gaming

So I posted a completely reasonable ban request on Koality Gaming.

http://akoalitysite.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=642

In synopsis, I told the admin that I believed two innocents were traitors, killed one and attempted to kill the other. The admin obviously misunderstood most of what I was saying, and even failed to read the damage logs correctly:
I believe you misread the damage logs:
I'm going to be very honest here, I really don't care about your opinions about how I should run the server. I'm not going to run the server in a way that allows rdmers to stay around for awhile while I wait for karma to do things. I also prefer having people make the decision, not a computer. You killed an innocent and then tried to rdm a detective. You're not getting unbanned.

Thread locked
I tried to kill two innocents who I thought were traitors. I did not try to RDM a detective, I was a detective.

Please reconsider your decision,

I would highly suggest that no one plays on either of their servers.

Worst Gaming Organization of the Week: Defused Gaming

Right now, I am on "Defused Gaming | Public TTT Server | 1 hit knife" (66.150.164.62:27015). Last map, we played ttt_airbus_b3, probably one of my top 3 Trouble in Terrorist Town maps. Two rounds before the end of the map, a player named ichimo (STEAM_0:0:45118624), who is also an admin, activated the first emergency exit exactly when the round started. I called him out for it. Peppermint Jello (STEAM_0:1:48392931), another one of the admins on staff, decided to slay me for calling out someone doing something traitorous. I missed the last round of my favorite map, because I called out a traitorous act. Admin abuse at its highest.

ichimo was a traitor, by the way.

Update: Half an hour later (8:30pm), I am still playing on this server, except it is on ttt_community_bowling_v5a now. ichimo once again admin abused, killing my traitor buddy and then threatening to prop kill me. I hastily tried to defend myself, but I find it somewhat suspicious that the admin targeting both of the traitors...

ARMA and ARMA II Review

Both ARMA and ARMA II belong to the worst game series I have ever played in my entire life. This blog post will be continuously updated to reflect my views on this series. For reference, the games I will be writing about include:
  1. ARMA: Combat Operations
    1. ARMA: Gold Edition on Steam
    2. ARMA: Cold War Assault
  2. ARMA II
    1. ARMA II: Army of the Czech Republic
  3. ARMA II: Operation Arrowhead
    1. ARMA II: British Armed Forces
    2. ARMA II: Private Military Company
  4. Arma II: DayZ Mod
I will not be writing about ARMA III because I do not own nor do I plan on buying it, however I highly suggest not buying it if it is anything like ARMA II.

So let's begin. The worst part of ARMA/II is the engine it runs off of. ARMA II "boasts the most realistic combat environment in the world. It models real world ballistics & round deflection, materials penetration, features a realtime day/night cycle and dynamic wind, weather and environmental effects."

Well, if realism means that there is no way to jump in the game, only some pathetic vaulting, then it must be realistic.

Do you enjoy knowing the target of your demise so you can plot your revenge? Well too bad, ARMA/II only tells you that you were killed, not by who or what.

Want to see technical game information? Something along the lines of a developer console? Too bad, it doesn't have one.

DayZ
My greatest mistake in buying ARMA/II was buying it solely for the purpose of playing DayZ because of all the hype. I can unequivocally state that DayZ is worse than the worst Source engine or Unreal engine mod out there.
  1. DayZ has the worst hit registration. If you enjoy hitting or shooting something at point blank range only for them to miss, you'll enjoy DayZ.
  2. DayZ has the worst animations. It's like Left 4 Dead 2 if you put your rate at 1000.
  3. No seriously, I have to make a point to expand on my last point. The zombie animations are terrible. If you attack a zombie crawling or crouching, to attack you it will stand up in a split second and then return to its former position.
  4. Not every building is hollow, most are simply models. This makes scavenging a lot less fun.
  5. And when the buildings are hollowed out, they look like crap! Take the hospitals for example. What do you think of in regards to a hospital? A large lobby? At least a clinic? No, the hospital isn't even a whole floor it's like a grandiose bus stop.
  6. If you are driving an ATV and it happens to flip on its side, your character has no way to flip it back over.

Review of BioShock Infinite

Last week, I played BioShock Infinite, a game that I have been had been (joke from the game) looking forward to since the 2010 trailer and the gameplay shown in 2010. I suppose I should have watched every trailer since then, because it was nothing compared to the original BioShock, and might have even been worse than BioShock 2.

No Spoilers
First, let's talk about some basic settings, like mouse sensitivity. The default mouse sensitivity for me felt like 3600 DPI, way too fast. And this was only one to the right of the lowest mouse sensitivity setting. I turned down Mouse Sensitivity all the way, and kept mouse acceleration off, then it was too slow. Mouse acceleration did just about nothing, on or off. So the whole game I played on awkward sensitivity.

As I walked onto the boardwalk and into the lighthouse, I was stunned at the detail in the game. It looked phenomenal. And when I summoned Columbia and took the rocket up to the sky, I was blown away as Booker was. I started exploring a city where the people were actually alive, not dead or crazies in BioShock 1 and 2. I expected some quests to involve the people of the city, which I will get to later. Towards the end of Chapter 1, I noticed something,

All the NPCs looked the same.

There are literally three models for the men, two models for the women, and I believe two models for the children. Originally, I believe that BioShock was going to be autocratic, fascist Americans vs. totalitarian, communist Americans, but instead it was

Gun-loving, Bible-thumping, Ku Klux Klan rednecks vs. anarchists

So following the redneck stereotype, if the citizens of Columbia all found their girlfriends at family reunions, then it makes sense that they all look the same! Inbreeding! Wincest! I'm glad that the revolutionaries eventually became the bad guys, because if, "Don't worry, I'm a progressive", was the staple response from most of the passive NPCs, I would have called this game an arm of the Democratic Party.

In comparing BioShock 1 and 2 with BioShock Infinite, it's interesting to note that radios existed in 1912 when the Marconi Company opened the world's first purpose-built radio, but pocket radios did not go into circulation until 1954 (Wikipedia), so Voxophones make sense.

The choice system was ripped out of the game midway through development.

They could have added a lot more choices like buying a bouquet from that girl, or using Devil's Kiss to help a maintenance man in one of the side rooms.

Autosaves are the most annoying part of that game. First, the indicator was not large enough, I never knew when I did or didn't autosave. Second, when you die right before the next autosave and it puts you back a couple dozen enemies, it causes nothing but rage. I can see where quick saving wouldn't be acceptable because it could get the player stuck, but I would have liked to revert to the previous, previous save.

That has been the one flaw of Halo and other games like it, is when you get to a bad checkpoint where you're low on health, ammunition, or it's just an impossible setup, and you can only revert to this same impossible checkpoint, or restart the chapter. At least when you choose your own saves, you can go back two or three, or more checkpoints.

Speaking of Halo, Irrational Games tried to make BioShock Infinite almost exactly like Halo CE, that or Borderlands 2. As I mentioned, the menus are very similar (revert/restart), you can only have two weapons (Halo CE), and you have both a shield and health (Halo CE). Borderlands 2 also has the shield and health dynamic, and being on the Unreal 3 engine, BioShock Infinite also had Floating Combat Text and Enemy Health Bars, that (when enabled) looked exactly like Borderlands 2.

At least Halo does multiplayer right, the only reason BioShock 2's multiplayer failed was because Feral Interactive left their multiplayer to Games for Windows Live. Big. Mistake. I have my issues with Valve, but they excel in supporting multiplayer for Source and non-Source games, old and new multiplayer, etc. If BS2 was Steam Powered, it would still be alive today, and at least BioShock 2 tried. BioShock Infinite made no attempt at multiplayer (to my knowledge).

There's no hacking in BioShock Infinite, the replacement is possession, which does not give you a discount on vending machines, only 10 silver eagles. There are telescopes that can be used for an achievement, but they cannot zoom, so they are useless. You can see all the scenery in an area just as good without a telescope.

Weapon upgrades, were actually done the right way: you bought them. In BioShock 1, you had to find Power to the People stations, and even then there weren't enough to unlock everything in the game.

But, one of the many things BioShock 1 did right was that it had an open world. There were several locked chests and one Fraternal Order of the Raven that I could have gone back for, but why would I want to? Instead of going directly back to the area, I would have to traverse several areas. Also, there were several points of no return, where I could never go back to those points in the game.

An open world would have also opened the possibility for more NPC quests, whereas most quests were based on items that you found, such as keys or codebooks.

I have to throw out an apology to my English friends, but the skyrails were wrong. You rode the skyrails on the left-hand side, not the American right-hand side.

The Vending Machines looked too similar, it took until near the end of the game to tell them apart from each other. Also, you can't jump and then attach to the skyrails in midjump.

The death animations, are one thing that I will give to BioShock Infinite, they were extremely detailed, such as electrocuting someone down to their very bones.

If I had to pick out three elements of the game that just killed it for me, it would be these:

1) The game depicted in the trailers was nothing like the final product.
Including the two videos above, this trailer had nothing to do with the final product, neither did this gameplay. In the last year, they completely changed the models and gameplay of BioShock Infinite, the gameplay that I bought the game for. Instead they made the models more cartoony and they killed a lot of the gameplay, such as Elizabeth attacking with you, instead of simply giving you resources.

2) I didn't form an emotional attachment to Booker or Elizabeth, at all.
Whenever Booker and Elizabeth had a chance for an emotional moment, the script botched it. Whenever they had a chance for physical contact that would lead to an emotional moment, it was skipped. When they did have physical contact, there was no emotion or facial expression on Elizabeth.

3) Choices were removed from the game.

You can tell from the beginning of the game that they planned on having separate endings based on choices, such as the raffle, the keys, and the ticket master, but about a third of the way into the game, the choices stop. Part way through development they just decided to cut choices from the game. This was inherently anti-BioShock and an insult to the series.

Miscellaneous
1912 was actually a mirror of 2012 (apocalypse, etc.), and Comstock sounded a bit like Cave Johnson. The plants looked pixelated on Ultra. The roof of the library on Monument Island was done terribly. There are many times during use of the skyrail and executions that I went through buildings or the head went through the clothing. There was another bug where I completed the last Vox code side quest and it still appeared on the objectives list.

Apparently you could be ousted for talking about Darwin, even though scientific racism would support the claims proposed by The Founders. There's a strange scene while Booker tries to reach the First Lady's Aerodrome, where a man asks a hot dog vendor if there's any sauerkraut. Are Germans above or below blacks and Irish, according to BSI? The mainstream culture of BSI also believes in killing children born out of wedlock, so at least in that regard they are no mirror to social conservatives.

There was an interesting reference to gendarme, and I have nothing but a positive opinion on Elizabeth's reference to Les Misérables. When you opened boxes of chocolates, you never received chocolates, it was always bananas and oranges.

Spoilers
I thought the Fortunate Son (Creedence Clearwater Revival) and Girls Just Want To Have Fun (Cyndi Lauper) cameos were pretty cool.

The sound made every time you looked at a tear was the most annoying sound in-game.

I found several glitched/stuck spots in the game that the testers so poorly missed. First, remember when Elizabeth is captured on the elevator? If you jump from the blue transport to where you chase Elizabeth on the skyrail later, before she spawns the rail, you're stuck there and you need to revert to last checkpoint. While I was jumping down to Chen Lin's cell I got stuck and had to revert to the last checkpoint. On the way to Comstock House before the bar with loyalists, I got stuck on luggage and had to go all the way back across the gondola that has the Luteces talking. When targeting dropships with the songbird, about 25% of the time they would glitch out and be impervious to targeting.

The way I've worked it out, Booker is from Universe A (no baptism), and Comstock is from Universe B (baptism). Eventually, the story makes it to Universe Z (or what is technically 123 universe later based on the coin flips (there's actually a bug where the 123rd tally disappears and Lutece rewrites it)). From Universe Z, Booker and Elizabeth travel to Universe Y, where Chen Lin is alive. In this world, you also find out that there is another Booker who made it to Monument Island too late, and Comstock moved Elizabeth into Comstock House. You then travel to Universe X, where Chen Lin kept his tools and helped start the revolution. When Booker and Elizabeth reach Comstock House in Universe X, Booker is warped back into Universe Y where he meets Old Elizabeth, who in turn warps him back to Universe Z where Elizabeth is being held by Comstock (I assume that somehow the Songbird went through a tear from Universe X to Universe Z).

Final Boss?

Other articles have equated the songbird to all the big daddies combined, when you don't even fight it! It is an antagonist, sure, but one of the first questions I get from people who don't own the game is how the songbird fight is.

Another annoyance I found in the game is the lack of explanation on critical issues, for instance

What is Salt?

I can assume that salt is the solid energy harvested from Elizabeth in Monument Island, but it is never explained what Salt is. Adam was the high mutagenic material in the sea slugs that allowed humans to splice DNA. What is Salt, hard light? (And to anyone who says Salts and Vigor are the same as Eve and Adam, slugs can't eat salt, fact.)

Another issue for contention,

What is the Songbird?

There must be a songbird in every universe except A, but can the songbird travel through rifts? Also, is the songbird beast or machine? Why did Elizabeth have to kill the songbird once it was allied with her and Booker?

Similar to Fringe
Another reason I didn't find the ending that satisfying was because it was similar to Fringe (I've ridden this train before). Consider the following:
  • Comstock is Walter.
  • Booker is Walternate.
  • Elizabeth is Peter.
  • Comstock traveled to another universe to steal his copy's child, just as Walter stole Peter from Walternate.
It isn't an exact comparison because I originally had Comstock as Walternate and Booker as Walter, which lead to the following:
  • Walter and Peter form a bond, which is temporarily broken, and mended again, just as Booker and Elizabeth do.
  • Walternate sends shapeshifters after Walter, as Comstock sends Patriots and Handymen after Booker.
  • Walter sacrifices himself and the child to fix the spacetime corruption he caused, just as Booker sacrifices himself and Anna to fix the universes harmed by his choices.

Why Lost Planet 2 is the Best Game on Steam and You Should Buy It

Lost Planet 2 is easily the best game on Steam that died because of a greedy publisher. CAPCOM developed/published Lost Planet 2 to its own downfall. For more than a year after the release of Lost Planet 2, it was priced at $49.99. Finally, they dropped the price, but only down to $29.99. If they dropped the price of Lost Planet 2 to $4.99 or $9.99, then we could begin to rebuild its community. If you ever see it drop to one of these prices, buy it immediately, and I'll play it with you.

There's only one problem with Lost Planet 2: community. This is why CAPCOM needs to lower the price drastically to get as many people in the community as possible. They are making no profit off Lost Planet 2 currently because there is no reason to buy it without people to play with.

Lost Planet 2 has all of the spectacular features:
  • 5 different factions to play and level
  • 22 GUNDAMS, Mobile Assault Units
  • Best boss mobs in any game I've ever played
  • 32 models for NEVEC Black Ops, 32 preset models for Femme Fatales
  • 5 different weapon classes, each with 7 weapons: Standard, Short Range, Long Range, Heavy Weapons, and Support (8 weapons)!
  • 5 different grenade classes each with 5 grenades: Normal, Gum, Disc, Release, and Plasma
  • 42 different abilities!
  • 364 Noms de Guerre to choose from!
  • 120 different Emotes to use!

Review of APB Reloaded

I've put about 24 hours into APB Reloaded and felt it was finally time to review it.

Pros
  • When the matchmaking actually works it can be a very fun game—even if you lose. As long as the enemy team does not pull any cheap tricks.
  • The customization is incredible for both clothing and vehicles.
  • The developers created a mixing station where players can actually create their own themes with a piano and over a dozen different instruments to choose from.
  • You can add your own music to the game and other players besides yourself can hear it.
  • You can join other instances as a group.
  • When you get killed by someone with a familiar theme it makes the game fun instead of aggravating.
Cons
  • Pay-to-Play (P2P) players ruin the game.
  • Your player reloads automatically and there is no way to disable it. This is a problem when  you are leaning out a car window and stuck there while reloading instead of having your teammate take you to cover.
  • Ladders cannot be clung onto halfway.
  • If two players try to climb a ladder where each player is at any point on that ladder, it will push both of them off.
  • There is a very common crash during character selection.
  • When sitting in the window of a car and pressing F, the character has to crawl back into the car before getting out.
  • In a car, players should be able to press a number or an F key to change seat positions.
  • Because money you acquire as a Criminal must be laundered, it spurs a combination of gambling and addiction, with the addictive qualities of the game only accented by the gambling.
  • You cannot search for items in the Marketplace (Auction House).
  • The matchmaking system is worse than garbage. It's useless. I've had match-ups of four silvers against four golds, whereas it's supposed to compensate by giving us more players. This happened once, and it gave us two silvers but also gave the golds two silvers.
  • I've had two missions that required a certain amount of kills where enemy teams did the following:
    • Pop two kills and then drive away the entire game in a vehicle. The game should have caused their vehicle to drive slower since they were in the lead, but it didn't and what should have been a stalemate was a victory to them.
    • Drive away to several spots in each district which are nearly invincible. One is in the northeast of the financial district where the only way to backdoor is to climb a ladder (you get shot while climbing), and the other is a long hallway where you can get sniped or picked off not even upon entering, but by approaching and trying to shoot back.
  • You will see around three of the same civilian model while driving down most streets. With the incredible amount of options for customizing your own character, there should never be more than one instance of the same model in a world at one time.
  • Civilians should never drop duplicates of
  • Civilians cannot be mugged while sitting down, crouching down, or while on the phone.
  • Cannot use the arrow keys in buy menus.
  • Gold players can join any instance, including Bronze and Silver. Bronze and Silver players should be able to join Silver/Gold instances and Gold instances, respectively, so that they can play with friends. My first day as Criminal I played with two Golds and should have been able to. However, Gold players should not be able to join lower instances because they use their higher tier weapons to farm lower players which is beyond unfair
  • Apparently when you have a bounty on your head, you can be witnessed by Enforcers at any time, even if you've been on the lamb for more than a minute and your last crime should have expired already.
  • When witnessed or in a mission in general, the game might spawn the Enforcer by Your Drop, but after he kills you, it does not spawn you at Their Drop, but rather Your Drop, giving you no possibility whatsoever to fight the Enforcer for your money.
Suggestions
  • Players join "Clans". This would be fine it it wasn't completely contrary to the plot of the game. Enforcer clans should be named Squads or Units and Criminal clans should be called Gangs.
  • All streets should be named so it actually feels like a real city.
  • Squads and Gangs should be able to take control of streets per instance.

Worst Gaming Organization of the Week: [DMG]

I recently finished playing on [DMG] TTT |One-Hit Knife|FastDL|Saved Karma| (66.151.244.2:27015) and left because of admin abuse. On ttt_terrorception5_fix, there were only two traitors left, Colin - FragRadio (STEAM_0:1:19166316) and DMG| Killhammer77 (STEAM_0:0:28958333).

First, I heard someone die in or near the office building. I then retreated to the hotel and killed Colin (I saw him kill the detective earlier, ironically I killed him in the same hotel room that he killed the detective). I then did a live check. No one responded. I knew by process of elimination that there was one traitor left. Finally, I initiated a radar bait. I waited in the bathroom for 25 seconds and then walked into the closet. As Killhammer77 walked into the bathroom I killed him from behind. Without a radar, he never would have gone into that bathroom.

I tried to tell him each of these things, the first three of which (hearing him kill someone, live check, and process of elimination) he flatly denied and I did not have a chance to give my most important piece of evidence before he said, "Argue with an admin and you get banned". A server without even the right to appeal before your punishment:
TTT:   The Traitors have been selected.Round state: 3
TTT:   The round has begun!
(Someone) slayed You
You are: INNOCENT
They also exhibited several other nefarious practices, such as accusing Colin of RDM x2 when he witnessed a DMG and his traitor buddy kill someone, but left before the admin could abuse and slay.

Afterwards, WeBuild4Life (STEAM_0:0:35132619) tried to simply ask about their rules as their MOTD was disabled, and they refused to answer any of his questions, until, in fact, they banned him for something he did not do, trolling (nor did he mass RDM).
(TEAM) DMG | Sir.Derpington: Actually on this server it is
Player :NxS: WeBuild4Life ºαQº left the game (Kicked by Console : Mass RDM + Trolling / Staff Di
(Someone) banned :NxS: WeBuild4Life ºαQº for 1440 minute(s) (Mass RDM + Trolling / Staff Disrespect)
HINT: As spectator, use team chat to talk during an active round!
(TEAM) DMG | Sir.Derpington: Then go play on another one where you know the rules
It should forever be known that DMG| Killhammer77 (STEAM_0:0:28958333), DMG | Sir.Derpington (STEAM_0:1:32357462), DMG | ๖ۣۜStool (STEAM_0:0:8403669),  and DMG | Update (STEAM_0:0:24641616) belong to an admin abusing clan. Even Three (STEAM_0:0:16691262), a veteran of TTT and admin of several servers, agreed that they do indeed admin abuse.
