Why Lost Planet 2 is the Best Game on Steam and You Should Buy It

Lost Planet 2 is easily the best game on Steam that died because of a greedy publisher. CAPCOM developed/published Lost Planet 2 to its own downfall. For more than a year after the release of Lost Planet 2, it was priced at $49.99. Finally, they dropped the price, but only down to $29.99. If they dropped the price of Lost Planet 2 to $4.99 or $9.99, then we could begin to rebuild its community. If you ever see it drop to one of these prices, buy it immediately, and I'll play it with you.

There's only one problem with Lost Planet 2: community. This is why CAPCOM needs to lower the price drastically to get as many people in the community as possible. They are making no profit off Lost Planet 2 currently because there is no reason to buy it without people to play with.

Lost Planet 2 has all of the spectacular features:
  • 5 different factions to play and level
  • 22 GUNDAMS, Mobile Assault Units
  • Best boss mobs in any game I've ever played
  • 32 models for NEVEC Black Ops, 32 preset models for Femme Fatales
  • 5 different weapon classes, each with 7 weapons: Standard, Short Range, Long Range, Heavy Weapons, and Support (8 weapons)!
  • 5 different grenade classes each with 5 grenades: Normal, Gum, Disc, Release, and Plasma
  • 42 different abilities!
  • 364 Noms de Guerre to choose from!
  • 120 different Emotes to use!

Review of APB Reloaded

I've put about 24 hours into APB Reloaded and felt it was finally time to review it.

Pros
  • When the matchmaking actually works it can be a very fun game—even if you lose. As long as the enemy team does not pull any cheap tricks.
  • The customization is incredible for both clothing and vehicles.
  • The developers created a mixing station where players can actually create their own themes with a piano and over a dozen different instruments to choose from.
  • You can add your own music to the game and other players besides yourself can hear it.
  • You can join other instances as a group.
  • When you get killed by someone with a familiar theme it makes the game fun instead of aggravating.
Cons
  • Pay-to-Play (P2P) players ruin the game.
  • Your player reloads automatically and there is no way to disable it. This is a problem when  you are leaning out a car window and stuck there while reloading instead of having your teammate take you to cover.
  • Ladders cannot be clung onto halfway.
  • If two players try to climb a ladder where each player is at any point on that ladder, it will push both of them off.
  • There is a very common crash during character selection.
  • When sitting in the window of a car and pressing F, the character has to crawl back into the car before getting out.
  • In a car, players should be able to press a number or an F key to change seat positions.
  • Because money you acquire as a Criminal must be laundered, it spurs a combination of gambling and addiction, with the addictive qualities of the game only accented by the gambling.
  • You cannot search for items in the Marketplace (Auction House).
  • The matchmaking system is worse than garbage. It's useless. I've had match-ups of four silvers against four golds, whereas it's supposed to compensate by giving us more players. This happened once, and it gave us two silvers but also gave the golds two silvers.
  • I've had two missions that required a certain amount of kills where enemy teams did the following:
    • Pop two kills and then drive away the entire game in a vehicle. The game should have caused their vehicle to drive slower since they were in the lead, but it didn't and what should have been a stalemate was a victory to them.
    • Drive away to several spots in each district which are nearly invincible. One is in the northeast of the financial district where the only way to backdoor is to climb a ladder (you get shot while climbing), and the other is a long hallway where you can get sniped or picked off not even upon entering, but by approaching and trying to shoot back.
  • You will see around three of the same civilian model while driving down most streets. With the incredible amount of options for customizing your own character, there should never be more than one instance of the same model in a world at one time.
  • Civilians should never drop duplicates of
  • Civilians cannot be mugged while sitting down, crouching down, or while on the phone.
  • Cannot use the arrow keys in buy menus.
  • Gold players can join any instance, including Bronze and Silver. Bronze and Silver players should be able to join Silver/Gold instances and Gold instances, respectively, so that they can play with friends. My first day as Criminal I played with two Golds and should have been able to. However, Gold players should not be able to join lower instances because they use their higher tier weapons to farm lower players which is beyond unfair
  • Apparently when you have a bounty on your head, you can be witnessed by Enforcers at any time, even if you've been on the lamb for more than a minute and your last crime should have expired already.
  • When witnessed or in a mission in general, the game might spawn the Enforcer by Your Drop, but after he kills you, it does not spawn you at Their Drop, but rather Your Drop, giving you no possibility whatsoever to fight the Enforcer for your money.
Suggestions
  • Players join "Clans". This would be fine it it wasn't completely contrary to the plot of the game. Enforcer clans should be named Squads or Units and Criminal clans should be called Gangs.
  • All streets should be named so it actually feels like a real city.
  • Squads and Gangs should be able to take control of streets per instance.

Worst Gaming Organization of the Week: [DMG]

I recently finished playing on [DMG] TTT |One-Hit Knife|FastDL|Saved Karma| (66.151.244.2:27015) and left because of admin abuse. On ttt_terrorception5_fix, there were only two traitors left, Colin - FragRadio (STEAM_0:1:19166316) and DMG| Killhammer77 (STEAM_0:0:28958333).

First, I heard someone die in or near the office building. I then retreated to the hotel and killed Colin (I saw him kill the detective earlier, ironically I killed him in the same hotel room that he killed the detective). I then did a live check. No one responded. I knew by process of elimination that there was one traitor left. Finally, I initiated a radar bait. I waited in the bathroom for 25 seconds and then walked into the closet. As Killhammer77 walked into the bathroom I killed him from behind. Without a radar, he never would have gone into that bathroom.

I tried to tell him each of these things, the first three of which (hearing him kill someone, live check, and process of elimination) he flatly denied and I did not have a chance to give my most important piece of evidence before he said, "Argue with an admin and you get banned". A server without even the right to appeal before your punishment:
TTT:   The Traitors have been selected.Round state: 3
TTT:   The round has begun!
(Someone) slayed You
You are: INNOCENT
They also exhibited several other nefarious practices, such as accusing Colin of RDM x2 when he witnessed a DMG and his traitor buddy kill someone, but left before the admin could abuse and slay.

Afterwards, WeBuild4Life (STEAM_0:0:35132619) tried to simply ask about their rules as their MOTD was disabled, and they refused to answer any of his questions, until, in fact, they banned him for something he did not do, trolling (nor did he mass RDM).
(TEAM) DMG | Sir.Derpington: Actually on this server it is
Player :NxS: WeBuild4Life ºαQº left the game (Kicked by Console : Mass RDM + Trolling / Staff Di
(Someone) banned :NxS: WeBuild4Life ºαQº for 1440 minute(s) (Mass RDM + Trolling / Staff Disrespect)
HINT: As spectator, use team chat to talk during an active round!
(TEAM) DMG | Sir.Derpington: Then go play on another one where you know the rules
It should forever be known that DMG| Killhammer77 (STEAM_0:0:28958333), DMG | Sir.Derpington (STEAM_0:1:32357462), DMG | ๖ۣۜStool (STEAM_0:0:8403669),  and DMG | Update (STEAM_0:0:24641616) belong to an admin abusing clan. Even Three (STEAM_0:0:16691262), a veteran of TTT and admin of several servers, agreed that they do indeed admin abuse.

Worst Gaming Organization of the Week: Metagaming.co.uk

As I'm playing early in the morning, English servers are the only populated servers. I decide to jump on [Metagaming.co.uk] Trouble in Terrorist Town (87.117.217.159:27015) and I play for a few maps. I killed a traitor and then proceeded to shoot Stephanov for shooting me after warning him to back off. He did not back off and killed me. In spectator, many players called for my ban after defending myself against Stephanov. At the same time, the admins slayed and kicked a player for RDM, and then banned him for a reason you can see in the screenshot.

The ban:

http://www.xfire.com/profile/patpeter/screenshots/?view#124017394

I can understand a slay for RDM, but a kick after the slay? And then a ban after that? And let's look at the ban reason: "You are not supposed to rejoin after a kick."

If a player is not supposed to rejoin after a kick, why does the ability to kick exist?

Worst Gaming Organization of the Week: Ultimus Fratrum

Alright, so this night of gaming (April 8th) started out on NOT THE BEES, but that server crashed so I switched to Ultimus Fratrum (206.217.143.23:27015). I was playing on concentration and accidentally shot an admin (whom they called a 'trusted', but that does not matter because semantics dictate that a person with administrative powers is, by definition, an admin) with my M249. This admin was (UF)BeastJesus (STEAM_0:0:44322264), and note: I did not kill him. He insisted, however, that I RDMed him and would be slayed next round, which he did:

http://www.xfire.com/profile/patpeter/screenshots/?view#122804985

The abuse did not stop there. When Beast revealed himself to be traitor he attempted to stop a player from telling the server by muting him:

http://www.xfire.com/profile/patpeter/screenshots/?view#122805040

When he legitimately called admin abuse, another admin, {UF}NotFound (STEAM_0:1:35516581), stepped in and gagged him:

http://www.xfire.com/profile/patpeter/screenshots/?view#122805070

Finally, they banned him with no means to defend himself, both muted and gagged, you can also see the immature comment made by "[UF] Mongoose [BSRP]" (STEAM_0:0:7930505):

http://www.xfire.com/profile/patpeter/screenshots/?view#122805072

Here you can see the last example of his mediocre admining:

http://www.xfire.com/profile/patpeter/screenshots/?view#122805116

I (STEAM_0:1:7366484) do not suggest ever going to this server.

Worst Gaming Organization of the Week: Ultimus Fratrum

Worst Gaming Organization of the Week goes to TTT| Ultimus Fratrum (206.217.143.18:27015) for a highly abusive head admin named "[UF] Takumi Usui 碓氷 拓海" (STEAM_0:0:23408012).

Basically, I enter their server and have traitor first round. I pick up a sniper and snipe a player in the head. Now, to throw Takumi a bone, he could see blood on the other side of the house's wall (ttt_southpark), but it was a headshot and he did not identify nor see the body before shooting me. So in reality, he had no proof that I killed anyone; I might have very well just crowbared him. He continued his admin abuse:
|DI| Trid: hey takumi
[UF] Takumi Usui 碓氷 拓海 has set the health of Rare Green Traitor to 50.
|DI| Trid: your paypal is mclean right
[UF] Takumi Usui 碓氷 拓海: no
|DI| Trid: what is it
[UF] Takumi Usui 碓氷 拓海: like the email?
[UF] #Tylor: its greenshift44@gmail.com
|DI| Trid: yes
|DI| Trid: for jewgelds
[UF] Takumi Usui 碓氷 拓海: zyn@cox.net
|DI| Trid: k
Later, I (STEAM_0:1:7366484) sprayed my infamous porn spray to see if I would be warned. Porn sprays were not against the rules either in the MOTD or the "Rules" tab. Instead, he kicked me. Upon rejoining, I asked why he kicked me, to which he responded with:

http://www.xfire.com/profile/patpeter/screenshots/?view#121877848

This server looks new and they talked about changing weapons, so I might try them again sometime, but until then would highly suggest against joining them.

Best Gaming Organization of the Week: Bandit Kitteh's - Trouble in Terrortown!

I originally thought I would create this post for Conjoint Gaming*, but due to questionable rules and administration, I decided that I could not.

Instead, I would like to give the honor of first BGOW (pronounced "b go w") to "Bandit Kitteh's - Trouble in Terrortown! [FastDL]" (206.217.131.76:27015). A mob of metagamers lead by "basedgamer1987" (STEAM_0:1:42172186) decided to falsely accuse me of "trolling, griefing, and hacking" and proceeded to look up my SteamID on Google to find "all my bans". Let's look at the history of this "basedgamer1987" (STEAM_0:1:42172186) and his friends, "oh god" (STEAM_0:0:1088719), "Teleport Successful" (STEAM_0:0:2844404), and "Panic! In Your Mom's Basement" (STEAM_0:0:313243):

basedgamer1987
ohgod
Teleport Successful
  • TBA
Panic! In Your Mom's Basement
  • TBA
Let's compare that to my bans:
  • TBA
Faced with around four people obviously metagaming and having basedgamer1987 tell them what to say, both admins online at the time, Bandit Kitteh (STEAM_0:1:16889502) and StarCrunch (STEAM_0:0:18825832) stood steadfast in their decision not to ban me.

They let me talk. I told them I only killed Teleport Successful because he was blocking the fireplace on ttt_trappycottage_b2—a traitorous act. I also admitted that I had insulted Teleport based on his accent to which I apologized to him: the last thing anyone thinks when faced with four trolls is civility.

I outlined that banning me for transgressions on other servers would be a case of double jeopardy—banning me for acts I had not committed on this server. Not only that, I pointed to my bans and proved to them that all the bans they listed were either non-permanent or unjust (as other posts on this thread can attest to).

Right now this server is encountering some technical difficulties, but I (STEAM_0:1:7366484) hope it stays up and matures into the great server I know it can be.

*Not to be confused with Convict Gaming.

Worst Gaming Organization of the Week: LethalAggression

I don't even know where to begin with this server.

The server is |LA| LethalAggression - TTT |Defib|Minigun|Silent Sniper|2K karma (74.91.114.71:27015). It is apparently owned by |LA| Excision on Ecstasy (STEAM_0:1:26100544), who represents the worst of female gamers. She said things such as, "Do you know how hard it is... to be a server owner... with tits?" I suggested that she make the following changes to the server, to which she gave a quick 'no' with no rationale:

ttt_fretta_mapvoting 1
ttt_voice_drain 0
ttt_postround_dm 1

Any server that does not have post-round deathmatch on (which alleviates tension in players who have not killed anyone for a few rounds), a game mode vote for which the only valid option is "Trouble in Terrorist Town" at the end of every map, and a microphone battery that runs out faster than ECG #1 (good server, terrible microphone battery) is a terrible server.

Later on the server, Excision decided to slay me mid-round for being AFK. This is two things, 1) admin abuse, and 2) idiotic as she should have just allowed the server to auto-move me to spectator. For slaying me, she only insured I would spawn in again. Any experienced server owner/hoster/admin would know this. When confronted on slaying me, she said, "Well, too bad."

Apparently, according to another admin named Sgt. Pepper (STEAM_0:0:13324704), the only admin without |LA| tags, the proper person to talk to about server configuration was a fish-someone. So maybe she was just running her mouth.

The worst part of the server was the overall immaturity of the admins. Slaying, slapping, etc. after the round is fine, but they were slapping people during the round, spamming music with PlayX (which does not respond to stopsounds since it steams from an entity, only playx_enabled 0 in console works) to which no admin knew how to disable, along with a number of other immature things.

A map later, I gave them a test. I sprayed a porn spray to see if they would warn me first:

Disconnect: Kicked by Console : Porn spray, keep it in your pants next time..

I (STEAM_0:1:7366484) do not know if this was a day ban, or permanent, but frankly I don't care to visit that server ever again.
